International study

There are several international studies that were started and to which we are asking to participate.

  1. Registration study of rare fungal infections (ISHAM study).

    Anyone can report rare invasive fungal infections by an electronic registry via the website www.fungiscope.net. Any information related to such infections that are eligible for registration and the financials compensation provided for the participating centres is available on the website.

  2. Epidemiological study on fusariosis in Europe (ECMM study).

    Fusariosis survey protocol - Case form to be completed

    To proceed we ask you to send the completed case form to Katrien Lagrou (katrien.lagrou@uz.kuleuven.be) who coordinates the study for our country, and to send the isolate together with the completed form to the attention of Françoise Symoens, Mycology Section, Scientific Institute of Public Health, Juliette Wytsmanstraat 14, B-1050 Brussels. The isolate will receive an IHEM number and the sender will get back an acknowledge message of the receipt including the IHEM number (by e-mail or post).


  3. Epidemiological study on coccidioidomycoses in Europe (ECMM study).

    Coccidioidomycoses survey protocol - Case form to be completed

    To proceed we ask you to send the completed case form by e-mail to Katrien Lagrou (katrien.lagrou@uz.kuleuven.be). The isolate has not to be sent but must be stored.


  4. Epidemiological study on mucormycoses in Europe (ECMM/ISHAM study).

    The reporting of mucormycosis can be done directly through the website www.zygomyco.net using the Data Entry option. You will first have to fill a registration form. Inform the national coordinator by e-mail (katrien.lagrou@uz.kuleuven.be) when you wish to report a case and send the isolate to the attention of Françoise Symoens, Mycology Section, Scientific Institute of Public Health, Juliette Wytsmanstraat 14, B-1050 Brussels. The isolate will receive an IHEM number and the sender will get back an acknowledge message of the receipt including the IHEM number (by e-mail or post).
